Kitchen Tiling & Splashbacks in Auckland

Splashbacks and floors that lift the whole kitchen — cut precisely, finished cleanly.

A kitchen splashback is a small area where every imperfect cut and crooked line shows. Tarara Tiling is a family-owned business led by Marko, a Croatian master tiler with 15 years’ experience, tiling kitchen splashbacks and floors across Auckland with the precision that detail work demands.

The Detail That Makes a Kitchen

More than any other room, a kitchen lives or dies on the small stuff — the mitred corner behind the hob, the clean line where the splashback meets the bench, the cut around a power point that actually looks intentional. It’s precise, unforgiving work, and it’s exactly the kind of tiling craftsmanship pays off. We take the time to set it out properly so the finished result looks effortless.

Splashbacks That Lift the Whole Kitchen

The right splashback can transform a kitchen — and it’s one of the highest-impact upgrades you can make. We tile splashbacks in everything from classic subway and herringbone to large-format porcelain, natural stone and mosaic feature panels. Tight, even grout lines, neat cuts around outlets and shelving, and a finish that’s as easy to wipe down as it is to look at.

Kitchen Floor & Wall Tiling

Kitchen floors take a beating — foot traffic, dropped pots, spills — so they need to be laid on a sound, level substrate with the right adhesive and grout for the job. We tile kitchen floors and walls in porcelain, ceramic and stone, with careful attention to levels, falls and layout so the finish lasts.

Trusted Materials, Guaranteed Work

Our kitchen tiling is backed by a workmanship guarantee. We’re certified installers with ARDEX, Mapei and Surtec, members of TANZ, the Tile Council and Site Safe, and fully covered by public liability insurance — trusted materials, installed to New Zealand industry standards.

Kitchen Tiling FAQs

How much does a kitchen splashback cost in Auckland?

It depends on the size of the area, the tile you choose and the amount of cutting and detail involved. Mosaic and natural stone take more time than a simple subway tile. We’ll give you a clear, itemised quote so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

How long does it take to tile a kitchen splashback?

Most splashbacks are a one- to two-day job, depending on size, tile and drying times. Kitchen floors usually take a little longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeline with your quote.

Can you tile around my existing benchtop and appliances?

Yes. We protect your benches and appliances, cut neatly around outlets, rangehoods and shelving, and set out the tiles so the finished lines look intentional.

What splashback tiles do you recommend?

It depends on your kitchen and how much of a feature you want. Subway and herringbone are timeless; large-format porcelain is clean and easy to maintain; mosaic and stone make a statement. We’ll advise honestly based on your space, style and budget.

Do you supply the tiles, or do I?

Either. Many clients choose their own tiles (we’re happy to advise), or we can point you to trusted suppliers.

Is your kitchen tiling guaranteed?

Yes — our work is backed by a workmanship guarantee, we use trusted materials installed to New Zealand standards, and we’re fully insured.
